Member Privacy Settings
The Church Social Administrators in your congregation can set the privacy settings, meaning that people must request that this information be hidden. This is largely because that's how many congregations have wanted the privacy features to work to this point.
Currently permissions for a person's privacy settings are available to Church Social Administrators in two locations. The first is a setting for all people. The second is specific for an individual person.
Setting Privacy for All Members
The first is the global settings which are applied to ALL users. These can be found on the Security Settings page. Unchecking a setting here hides that information for all people. For example if you uncheck the Show maiden names option it will hide maiden names from all but the Administrators.
Setting Privacy for a Specific Member
The second option available to administrators is under the People section. Here you can search for the person whose settings you would like to modify, click on the person's name (red text) to open that person's settings page. If you scroll to the bottom of the page you will see the Access & Privacy section.
Once you click on this section a pop-up will appear where you can uncheck settings. For example if somebody does not want their age shown you can uncheck the Show age option for that person. Be sure to click the Save changes button to save the updated settings.
Here is a breakdown and description for what each setting does.
Visible - When deselected, this setting totally hides the individual and this person will not be visible anywhere in Church Social and will not receive any messages.
Show birthday - When deselected, this setting hides both the age in years and the date of birth (the day, month and year).
Show age - When deselected, this setting hides both the age in years and the year of birth for the individual.
Show anniversary - When deselected, this setting hides the marriage date and wedding anniversary.
Show address - When deselected, this hides the person's home address.
Show phones - When deselected, this hides the person's phone number.
Show email - When deselected, this hides the person's email address.
Show maiden name - When deselected, this hides the person's maiden name.
Show membership start date - When deselected, this hides the person's membership start date.
