Visit note visibility

Church Social includes flexible privacy settings so that visits and notes are only visible to those who need access to them. By default, visibility for visit notes follows your church’s notes policy. This setting can be adjusted on the Office-bearer settings page by a Church Social administrator.

Here’s a breakdown of what each setting means:

• Only their own visits –  Office-bearers can only see notes for visits you went on.
• Only visits with the same role – Office-bearers can only see notes for visits from the same office-bearer role (elder/deacon). For example, if you're an elder and another elder goes on a visit that you didn't go on, you can see the notes for that visit.
• Only visits to their district – Office-bearers can only see notes for visits from their district, regardless of the office-bearer role. For example, if you're an elder and the visit was made by a deacon in the same district, you can see the notes for that visit.
• Only visits with the same role or to their district – Office-bearers can only see notes from their district, or those made by office-bearers with the same role, regardless of the district. For example, if you're an elder, you can see all elder visit notes, plus deacon notes from your district.
• Only those with the same role and to their district –  Office-bearers can only see notes for visits from their district and for the same office-bearer role (elder/deacon). For example, if you're an elder and your elder district partner from the same district goes on a visit that you didn't go on, you can see the notes for that visit.
• All visits –  Office-bearers can see all visit notes, regardless of the district or their role.

Privacy for sensitive visits

Office-bearers can adjust privacy settings for individual visits when extra confidentiality is needed. In most cases, the default settings chosen by your church are sufficient. However, for sensitive visits, office-bearers may choose to either restrict the visit or make it private.

• Restricted – Only the office-bearers who conducted the visit (and any additional viewers they specify) can see the notes. These restrictions apply regardless of your church’s default settings.
• Private – Only the office-bearers who conducted the visit (and any specified additional viewers) can see the visit at all. It is completely hidden from the rest of the app, including the calendar, and no visit reminders are sent.
